Five Reasons You Should Spend Your Rebate Check

January 28th, 2008 · No Comments

  1. It’s free money. You did nothing to earn this money. It’s not a part of your budget. It is a gift from Uncle Sam to you. It’s not in your budget, so use it as you please.
  2. Be patriotic. This money comes with some strings attached in that you are supposed to spend it back into the economy to save us from impending recession. Do as you are told.
  3. Be a capitalist. When you spend the money you are creating demand for products, which means there will be a need to hire people to create those products.
  4. Be a consumer. There is nothing like doing what you are defaulted to do: buy things. You need more stuff because what you have around is probably not good enough for you.
  5. It’s not that much money if you think about it. Can a measly $300 or $400 pay off the mortgage or rescue you from your credit card debts? It will do nothing toward those ends, so why put it there when you get see it at work in the products you buy.
